OstrowHarding is a full service architecture practice with roots in cultural buildings, high-end residential and hospitality. We bring our foundation of conceptually driven design and experience in complex cultural projects into a nimble design studio. We work on ambitious projects from small to large scales with a focus on fabrication and advanced geometries. Our projects reflect our passion for shaping unique experiences and desire to create thoughtfully crafted spaces.
Together we have a combined 40+ years of experience in award winning design firms on significant public facing projects prior to forming OstrowHarding in 2019. Based in Brooklyn, New York our studio is licensed to practice Architecture in New York State and we are a certified Minority / Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) in New York City.
Matthew Ostrow, AIA, NCARB
Matthew Ostrow is a registered architect with over 25 years of professional experience and is an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and Parsons. Matt founded OstrowHarding along with Rosannah Harding in 2019. At Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Matthew was a pivotal contributor to over 40 projects including The Shed, The Broad, Columbia University Medical School, Hirshhorn Bubble, and the Museum of Image and Sound in Rio. Matthew’s expertise in digital modeling platforms was key to the execution of these complex projects during design and construction. Prior to DS+R he worked for Grimshaw Architects on notable projects including the Frost Museum of Science in Miami, Earthpark, and the Coney Island Bandshell. Matthew has worked for Dattner Architects in NYC, Kallman McKinnell and Wood Architects in Boston, and CarrierJohnson Architects in San Diego. He holds a professional degree in Architecture from The Cooper Union and attended the Ecosa Institute of Sustainable design at Arcosanti. Matthew lectures about his work at DS+R internationally and is a frequent juror at The Cooper Union, Columbia, GSD, and Pratt.
Rosannah Harding, AIA, ISHC, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C
Rosannah Harding is a registered architect in New York and California with 17 years of professional experience and teaches at Parsons. At 23 years old she became the youngest architect member in the history of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She started college at 12 years old and completed her professional degree at the age of 18. Rosannah founded OstrowHarding along with Matt Ostrow in 2019. She has worked in the offices of Diller Scofidio + Renfro in New York, Perkins + Will and WRNS Studio in San Francisco. Most significantly, as a project architect she worked on DS+R's innovative telescoping performing arts center, The Shed, for 6 years. Rosannah has prior experience on a range of project types including a land port of entry, adaptive re-use of a regional transit headquarters, a reclaimed airport lands, the world’s largest all women's university, and a local history museum. She received a Master of Architecture with a concentration in Urban Studies from The Cooper Union in 2014 and a Bachelor of Architecture with High Distinction from California College of the Arts in 2007.
