Sequoia

2014 Graduate Design Studio at Cooper Union - Architecture of Nature, Nature of Architecture. Condensation, coalescence and capillarity are the delicate processes which are at the core of the survival of the largest living organism on earth, the Giant Sequoia. The forest whole operates as a mega-organism, each tree acting as a limb within the larger structure grafted at the roots. Fog captured by the forest network provides the conditions for its specific growth and subsistence.
